ARAI - CK6 - JUNIOR KART HELMET - MED 57-58cm
The ARAI CK-6 Karting helmet, one of the first helmets to be CIK-FIA CMR 2016 Approved for use by juniors. The CIK-FIA (the Commison Internationale de Karting authority of the FIA) has updated their regulations with the recommendation that all drivers under the age of 15 should use a Snell-FIA CMR 2016 approved helmet. The Snell-FIA CMR 2016 approval was developed to provide a suitable helmet for children to use in Motorsport, rather than a helmet design for an adult head (& neck) which is then shrunk down to youth sizes.
This new standard only accepts helmets for head circumferences under 60cms, so children with a larger head should go for the SA and K standards. The CMR standard sets different maximum weight limits depending on size, with 1300 grams being the maximum weight for a full face helmet sizes 57-59cms and 1100 grams the maximum weight for sizes 49cms and under.
